Aurora Borealis - An Amazing Light Show

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

James 1:17

Over Mother’s Day weekend, we traveled to northern Minnesota and witnessed a spectacular light show known as Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights. We were able to capture a few pictures at 1:30 AM. We found the best way to capture these images was to put our phone in night mode and hold still while taking the picture. An even better option is to use a tripod if you have one available, but we did not have one with us. The vivid colors are better captured by the camera lens than by the human eye. The night sky was beautiful, but it was even more amazing when we captured the images on our phones.

I can’t say that I know enough to explain what causes the Northern Lights, but if you are interested in learning more, you can follow this link from Answers in Genesis. It’s a great resource for adults and children to learn about the Northern Lights.

Here are just a few of the pictures we were able to capture.
