How We Fixed Our Wobbly Fence

We love our patio. One of the things we love most about it is the privacy our fence gives us. When we built it, we decided to put the posts on top of our cement patio rather than digging them into the ground. This made for an easier install, and we really love the look of it. But we realized that it was not as sturdy as it would have been had we dug them into the ground. After several windy days, we decided the fence was too wobbly and needed to be reinforced somehow. And here is what we did….

We researched several products that could help us strengthen our fence posts, and we found the IRONBARBIE Thickened Fence Post Stakes on Amazon.

These stakes seemed pretty sturdy, had good reviews, and the installation looked relatively simple. We decided to purchase enough to place a stake on every other fence post.

The installation process was relatively simple. The biggest challenges were making sure we pounded the stakes straight into the ground, and also making sure we put them in the right spot so our existing hardware would not be in the way. As you can see in the pictures above, our existing hardware sticks out in several places which could make it a little difficult for the stakes to fit properly. Other than that, the installation was pretty smooth, and we are pleased with how much it strengthened our fence. I’m no longer wondering if our fence will survive the next windstorm. If your fence wobbles like ours did, I would highly recommend you check these stakes out and see what they can do for your fence in a matter of minutes.
